Exploring Altenew's Build-A-Flower Chrysanthemum Stamp Set

It’s getting closer to fall, and soon (if not already!) we will be seeing these lovely fall flowers beginning to show up at grocery stores, home improvement stores and nurseries.  The nicest thing about stamping is that we can make them ANY color we like – even those that we don’t see in nature or bred by nurseries! While I’ve done these in shades of yellow on a green background (I wished I’d remembered to emboss my card front – maybe the next one!), you can do blue, rust, red or any shade really!  I made this for an upcoming card class for the launch of a  brand-new on-line store a friend of mine is starting.  Keep tuned for more details as we grow this new enterprise!  Let your mind soar and imagine all you can do with this lovely set!  All the details of what I used are below.  I’m sure that you have some similar embellishments in your stash already that will work until we can launch this store in the very new future.
Stamp set(s):  Altenew - Build-A-Flower Chrysanthemum Stamp Set
Ink(s):  Altenew Summer Afternoon and Green Fields Ink Sets; My Favorite Things (MFT) Hybrid Inks-
Lemon Chiffon, Peach Bellini & Coral Crush
Paper:  MFT – Lemon Chiffon, Gumdrop Green, Tiny Check 6x6 Paper Pack; Neenah Solar White 110#
Dies & Embossing folders:  Build-A-Flower Chrysanthemum Die; MFT-Bold Stripes Cover-Up Die
Embellishments/Others:  Wink of Stella-clear;  Pretty Pink Posh Sequins-Mossy Green 4mm

The name of this new on-line adventure is In2Stampincards.  And, many of the the items I've used to make this card will be carried in our on-linestore.  The names include: Altenew, My Favorite Things Stamps, Hero Arts, Honey Bee Stamps, Impression Obsession, Gina K and more!  I will be posting more about our website,  Facebook and Instagram sites as we get this up and going.

      Many Blessings,
      Donna

Raspberry Suite Birthday

I know, I know!  If any of you are still following me, you’ve probably wondered if I’d dropped off the face of the earth.  I haven’t but the last several years have been filled with family upheavals and unimaginable stress!  Our blended family is suffering many challenges.  We are still going thru them but we trust God to find a way thru the stress and messiness of life!  God has provided me with an outlet to reboot my creativity thru a good friend and stamping buddy!
A friend of mine is getting ready to start up an online cardmaking and papercrafting store and is also having a birthday.  She has asked me to be a guest designer for her website and blog so I’ve promised to resurrect my blog and the first card I’m going to post is one I made for her with items from one of my favorite stamp companies (and awesome group of designers), Papertrey Ink.  I’ve started using their inks and cardstock after leaving a previous company.  (Sold all of them at a yardsale! LOL)  I love PTI’s 100-110# cardstock.  It holds up so well to dry embossing and folding/creasing without tearing for card bases and won't fall over when the card front is loaded with layers and embellishments. YEAH!!!  Their inks are gorgeous and stamp so well too.  I’ve also been making other cards that I’ll be posting soon from other companies that we will have at our store but for today, here’s PTI and one of my favorite designers!  Hats off to Raspberry Suite Design by Dawn McVey as I feature a few of her own designs (old and new) for PTI!

  • ·      Stamp set(s): PTI-Orchid Expressions SS; MFT-Big Birthday Sentiments (inside message)
  • ·      Ink(s):  PTI-Spring Rain, Blueberry Sky, Enchanted Evening, Canyon Clay, Spring Moss, Prairie Grass

Ink(lings) Artistry Relaunch

Hey every body!  I'm still around and enjoying my 3 yo granddaughter who is the joy in joyful to her Nanny!  We've had a lot going on in our family in recent years - my gorgeous granddaughter being the good part of it - and the last year in particular has been just horrendous!  But I've a friend who is launching a brand spanking new website for cardmakers and papercrafters to purchase some of of their favorite stuff.  (Stay tuned for more updates on her store launch.)  If you're in the Triad area of NC, we've got some card classes coming up on August 25 & 26 where we will be rolling out her new on-line store!  I'll be doing some designing for her store.  I'm really excited about this opportunity for her and for me to get my mojo back!  It's always inspiring to see a friend follow her dream!  She's a good friend and talented lady herself so stay tuned.  I've got several posts getting ready to go up.  Keep checking back or sign up to receive notices of my new posts!  To tickle your craftiness, here's a quick pic of my creative mess from my craftroom!

Many Blessings to All
